Why I suck at being a wife...

Yep,it is true.  I totally suck at this whole wife thing.  Lucky for me, my husband loves me anyways, but I really suck.  Here is why...

I hate going to the grocery store- I despise that place.  I once made the mistake of going by myself at the beginning of the month and I felt like I was in bumper buggies meets roller derby.  It was traumatizing.  Aside from that, I still hate to go.  I hate the whole process.  I always forget things.  I have putting it in on the conveyor belt.  I hate putting them in the car.  I hate carrying them in.  I hate putting them up.  You see, I really hate it.

I hate unloading the dishwasher- I don't mind loading it, I just hate putting everything up.

I hate folding laundry- it is kinda like the dishwasher.  I don't mind separating it, washing it, drying it.  I hate the folding and putting it up process.  BUT, I do love the smell of fresh laundry! (<that's wifely right?!)

I hate dusting- We made the mistake of buying a book shelf that has a million different little squares and rectangles, plus we have a million picture frames, etc. on it and it is a pain in the you know where to dust.  Then my OCD makes putting it all back equally painful.

I sometimes like cooking- Here is the thing, my husband has the pallet of a 5 year old...seriously.  I do like to cook, but not chicken tenders and pizza all the time.  Plus, I usually end up cooking two meals.

I love professional pictures- Ladies, this straight up puts you on the sucky wife list...no man likes have their picture taken a million times in preplanned outfits.

Now, here are the wifely things I love to do:
  • vacuum
  • drink wine
  • taking bubble baths
  • shampoo carpet...that is fun.  I just don't want to clean the room first.
  • shop for home goods
  • shop in general
  • I am discovering my love for DIY project...but according the the work that sometimes causes my husband that might go on the sucky wife list.
I love T with all my heart...I just totally suck at "wifing" it!

Disappointment and 30 Day Shred

This past week was full of disappointment.  This past week I could no longer ignore the pain in my knee after as I ran and after I ran.  The pain started as very faint after I ran in my right knee.  As of last week, it was a constant sore feeling when I ran that continued the next day/s after I ran.  As I was trying to kneel down to get on the floor with kids at my job it was really bad.  I had to seek some advice on whether to keep running was the right thing to do (I already really knew in my head that what I was feeling wasn't normal).  After discussing it, it was decided that I needed to take a break from running for a couple of week, then start with a short run and see how it feels and go from there.

I was so disappointed.

I was up to running 4 straight miles, something I have never done and that 10k was actually feeling like something I could accomplish.  However, having had family member who have had knee and hip problems from running I knew that it was not something I wanted to ignore and end up permanently injured. I decided to not be stubborn and go with the advice I had been give.  I am currently taking a break from my 10k training.  I am going to try a short run (like 1-2 miles) on the track around Sunday after almost a week and half off and see how it feels.

I normally would have used this as an excuse to completely throw in the towel and be done until my knee was better, which would have ended up being well after it was better.  I have decided to try to 30 Day Shred and see how that fairs with my knee.  I did the first workout yesterday and I didn't feel the knee pain during or after the workout, so that is a good sign. My knee is still somewhat sore, but I can feel the difference between the original soreness and it hurting from new impact, so to speak.

Weekend and Wishes

This weekend totally consisted of getting ready for my first ever photo shoot...which you can see below.

Last weeks wishes:
[One] Start to figure out my camera:  I want to take at least 3 pictures I am proud of in manual mode and share them here next week....Well, here they are.  The opportunity presented itself to take some baby pictures.  No, they aren't perfect.  No, I don't have any fancy software or a prime lens yet...what you take is what you get.  BUT, I don't hate them.

[Two] Start to watch the tutorial that came with the camera: Self-explanatory....Umm, I didn't do this, but I did watch a whole lot of Youtube videos.
[Three] Keep up with 10k training: This is my first full week of work, so I know working out is going to be harder....This was an absolute FAIL.  I actually hurt my knee and was advised to take a break from running to avoid long-term damage.  I am starting 30 Day Shred this week...wish me luck!

This Week's Wishes:
[One] Do 30 Day Shred 5 days this week.
[Two] Continue to learn about my camera.
[Three] Do something different with my hair at least 3 days...I totally stole this from someone's wish I saw last week, but they had a great idea and I am boring when it comes to my hair.

Sunday Social

Clearly, I don't act like an adult most of the time, now.

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
Umm, everything!  Haha, no I am kidding, kind of.
This calls for a bulleted list:
  • Sundays at my Mammaw and Papaw's house
  • Sleepovers
  • Eating whatever I wanted
  • Living without a care
  • Changing my career daily based on whatever I was pretending to be
  • The tire swing at my aunt's house (it isn't there anymore)
  • Camping and 4-wheeling (<does that make me a redneck?)
  • Being able to ride every ride at the county fair and NOT get sick.
  • Cartoons
  • TGIF, does anyone remember that on Friday nights?  My family always ordered pizza and settled in for the night.
  • With that being said, the following TV shows: Full House, Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Family Matters.
  • This pretty much sums me and my childhood up.
2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?
K-K- Dad's family
Punkie- Dad
Katie-did- Papaw

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

Let me first start by saying recess equipment used to be a lot more dangerous.  I loved the death wheel aka the Merry-Go-Round.  We would run as fast as we could to get it going as fast as our little legs could manage and then try to jump on.  Lord forbid you fall, because you were sure to be pummeled.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A teacher mostly, but I was ALWAYS pretending to be different things.

5. Did you participate in any school activities?

Dance Team, Tennis Team, and Cross Country.

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

I don't know that it is funny, but it is something I distinctly remember and something that gets talked about all the time, still.  The time I fell asleep under the bed and no one could find me and everyone panicked.
